About Train of Thoughts

Train of Thoughts was set up by Tim Redpath, MBA.

Tim’s background is Marketing and Sales. His skill, acquired through over 25 years of experience with international corporations, is in helping technical experts take complex issues to market, through an analysis of market needs, strategic planning and an understanding of communication challenges. Tim has helped to identify and develop new brands, messaging and value propositions. He has worked extensively on the preparation and generation of marketing campaigns that not only deliver leads and build brand awareness, but also generate a return on the corporate investment. Underpinning those campaigns has been a shrewd knowledge of market research techniques, experience with all aspects of marketing communications and a keen awareness of marketing trends and hot buttons. He has worked successfully for organizations on both sides of the North Atlantic, on projects as diverse as the creation of unique events to raise corporate awareness; corporate communications campaigns to generate new business; and customer care programmes.

Tim has extensive strategic and tactical experience as well as significant management skills with proven leadership ability with diverse and disparate teams. Experience in leading marketing organizations through a changing environment, and in corporate brand development and promotion, are critical skills that lend themselves to many projects.

Prior to setting up Train of Thoughts, Tim’s experience includes national and international marketing work for Mitel Telecom and Kone Elevators in the UK, and Mitel Corporation and Kanatek Technologies in Ottawa, Canada.

Train of Thoughts works with Associates and partners as required by its clients. By not having full-time employees, costs are kept down and 100% of the energy can be spent dealing with client issues.

Tim is a published creative writer, and a lecturer at the Sprott of Business at Carleton University, Ottawa, where he lectures on the value of integration in marketing campaigns, and the importance of creativity within marketing organizations.

Train of Thoughts is a proud supporter of Ad Astra - a group dedicated to the objective of raising $150,000 to build a school in Kathmandu, Nepal in memory of Sean Egan who died on the slopes of Mount Everest on April 29th 2005.

We opened the Child Haven school on March 12th 2008!
